Finding the Best Online Stores

Online shopping is lots of fun and it’s convenient as well. You can shop at any time of the day or night, and you can often get amazing deals as well. However, in order to get the best shopping experience, you need to find the best online stores. It’s not always easy to tell which store will honor your orders and send you your order items fast, and which retailer will be a pain to deal with. However, there are some clues as to which online stores are best:

1) The best online stores have good reviews and ratings from other customers. Listen to what other customers say about specific jewelry stores, bookstores, music stores, and other stores online. Do other customers have specific complaints about some stores? Do other customers have generally good experiences with a particular store? Watch out for stores that get a lot of negative reviews from customers.

2) The best online stores have good service ratings with the Better Business Bureau. Some stores may simply be too new to have great ratings, but a bad rating is always something to be wary of.

3) Read about the store on the store’s official web site. Read the fine print, especially. If you order Votivo candles from particular retailer, for example, can you return the candles if there is something wrong with them, or get a refund? What is the source policy on damaged items, items you’re not happy with, and items that don’t work properly? What is the store’s policy on keeping your personal information safe? Does the company promise not to send you spam and does it promise not to share your personal information with others? If the company makes no promises, you could find unexplained charges on your credit card or lots of spam in your inbox.

4) Find out how long the company has been in business. Although many new companies are perfectly legitimate, a company that has been in business for at least a few years is a surer bet. A company that has been in business has a reputation to uphold, and you at least have the assurance of knowing that the company is not a fly-by-night operation.

5) Look at contact information. You should be able to contact a live person for customer support or help in case there is a problem. Any e-mails you send to the company requesting customer service should be answered pretty promptly. If you have a hard time contacting anyone at the company, you may have a very hard time resolving any problems – and that is not a good sign.

6) Make sure the web site is encrypted. If you are buying Tocca candles or anything else online, you want to make sure that your purchase and personal information is secure. A web site that is encrypted ensures that your credit card number cannot be read by other Internet users while you’re placing an order. You should never pay on a web site that does not offer encryption.
